Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a method of improving the security your account. To login, Campus Online requires your username, your password, and a time-based one-time passcode. By default, this passcode is sent via email. However, you may wish to receive codes via an app. You may wish to do this if you find that you are not receiving the passcode emails in a timely manner or you wish to improve the security of your account further.

If you do not already use app-based MFA, please download an authenticator app to your phone or tablet such as Google Authenticator (Android, iOS) or Authy (Android, iOS).

Log into Campus Online as you normally do.

Click "Profile" in the top right corner.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will find a QR code.

The following steps will show you how to add the account to Google Authenticator on Android. If you are using Authy or another app or iOS, the steps you need to take may be slightly different to what is shown below.

Open the authenticator app on your phone.

Tap "Add a code".

Tap "Scan a QR code".

Hold the phone to the screen so that Google Authenticator can scan the QR code presented on Campus Online.

Google Authenticator will add the account to the phone. The account and the generated code will be listed in the app.

Enter the code that is generated by the app and click "Verify code".

App-based MFA is now enabled on your account.

When you next login, you will be prompted to enter a code generated from your phone app.
